Norco Primex Field Days moves to the revamped Lismore Showgrounds in 2026 with major benefits for the renown agricultural expo, Primex visitors and the business hub of the Northern Rivers.

The showgrounds are being transformed into a key regional events centre, with a $4.7 million upgrade to facilities, from food and administration areas to livestock zones to internal roads. From May 21, the grounds will be packed with machinery traders, primary producers and lifestyle retailers showcasing goods and wares, complemented by networking events, ag tech demonstrations and advice on matters from health to recipes to education and new careers.

To cope with more than 30,000 expected visitors, parking too has been improved with two major new car parks developed on the southern side of the showgrounds, one off Tweed Street and one off Bridge Street. And a shuttle bus service will run from the Lismore Transit Centre, with two more pick-up stops, through to the showgrounds each day.

The Norco Primex move to Lismore showgrounds has also meant the event could extend Friday hours to 6.30pm, allowing more time for families to visit exhibits

Lismore Council’s full backing for the event, plus the grounds’ capacity to adapt to Primex’s evolving needs in coming years, dovetails with this year’s Primex theme – Growing the Future. The grounds on the edge of Lismore’s central business district offer improved accessibility, accommodation options and transport links for the 80 percent of Primex visitors who travel over 50 kilometres to reach the annual event.

Norco Primex director Bruce Wright said the Lismore showgrounds were a natural for these important agricultural field days, now in their 41st year.

“The venue’s layout and flexibility are ideal for hosting over 400 exhibitors, 1400 suppliers, and more than 30,000 visitors, with ample indoor pavilions and open-air display areas. Lismore’s recovery and resilience reflect Primex’s own evolution, with both united in delivering strong outcomes for the Northern Rivers.”
